Poet 2

In front of

this object of knowledge

the poet’s eyes

burn

with curiosity,

with sympathy,

with understanding, because in that phenomenon

he sees something he would like to have himself,

but as he is

a young fifteen-year-old poet,

he doesn’t have it that way.

Luigi Giussani, Is it (really?!) possible to live this way?
